Service Guidelines & Expectations
We’re excited to take care of your lawn! Below is a simple outline of what you can expect from us — and what we need from you — so everything runs smoothly.
🌱 Weekly Mowing Schedule
- We mow once per week on the same scheduled day, weather permitting.
- If it rains on your scheduled day, we will move your service to the next day.
- If bad weather continues, we will keep pushing the schedule back until conditions are safe and dry enough to work.
- Weather delays do not cancel that week’s service — we will still complete it as soon as possible.
📅 Skipping a Week
Need to skip a mow?
- Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice.
- If we do not receive enough notice and your service is already scheduled, the visit will be charged.
We plan routes in advance, so we appreciate the heads up!
💵 Payment Terms
- Payment is due within 15 days of receiving your invoice.
- Invoices not paid within 15 days may be subject to:
- A late fee of % per month (or $ flat late fee)
- Suspension of services until the account is brought current.
- We work hard to provide reliable service and appreciate timely payments to keep everything running smoothly.
🧸 Preparing for Service
To help us do our best work, we ask that you:
- Remove toys, lawn furniture, decorations, hoses, and other movable items from the yard.
- Clean up pet waste.
- Secure pets safely away from work areas.
- Make sure gates are unlocked.
- If you have sprinklers, please schedule them:
- Early enough for the lawn to dry before we arrive, or
- After we have completed service.
If the yard is not ready when we arrive, we may need to skip service or charge additional time.
🌿 Overgrown Lawns
If the grass is significantly taller than normal maintenance height, extra time and equipment may be required. In those cases:
- An overgrowth fee may apply.
- The lawn may need more than one visit to bring it back under control.
🔧 Damages
We take great care while servicing your property.
- If we cause damage, we will repair it or pay to have it repaired.
- Please notify us within 48 hours if you notice an issue.
We are not responsible for damage to hidden objects, unmarked irrigation lines, invisible fences, or pre-existing issues.
📌 Deposits for Scheduled Work
For larger jobs requiring a deposit:
- The deposit holds your spot on our schedule.
- We ask that you allow Top Shelf the opportunity to complete the scheduled work so your deposit can be applied.
- Deposit policies will be discussed at the time of booking.
🔄 Service Agreement & Cancellation
Our service agreements are verbal and ongoing — no long-term contracts required.
- You may cancel service at any time.
- We simply ask for reasonable notice so we can adjust our schedule and avoid unnecessary charges.
